Analyst Programmer

An analyst programmer could also be referred to as a technical business analyst and will usually act as a bridge between a business and its IT department. The role will usually involve working closely with different business areas to gather requirements in order to design and configure a system, including setting clearly defined objectives and requirements.

Analyst programmers will often work alongside BAs and project managers and will be involved in testing, implementing and provide post-implementation support. Whereas a programmer will simply take the algorithms they are given and write code, an analyst programmer must also be able to analyse a program and develop the algorithms to solve it – they will do the whole thing themselves.

Responsibilities:
  • Understand user requirements and perform technical analysis
  • Support in System Design and specification writing
  • Implement and maintain systems
  • Design and implement system test plan and test case
Requirements:
  • Degree holder or above in IT discipline or equivalent
  • At least 4 years of post-graduate IT experience
  • With 4 years or above experience involve in Web based application (Java or .NET)
  • Experience in system analysis and design will be an advantage
  • Experience in AJAX, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, XML and SQL
  • Experience in Struts and Spring or ASP.NET MVC 4
  • Experience in Oracle, MySQL and DB2
  • Experience in developing Web Services
  • Experience in IBM WebSphere/IBM Portal will be an advantage
  • Experience in SI or Vendor will be an advantage
  • Hardworking and able to work independently
  • Self-motivated and good problem solving skills
  • Good interpersonal, negotiation, presentation
  • High enthusiastic in various IT technology will be an advantage
  • Proficiency in English Communication and writing
  • Candidate with less experience would be considered for the post of Programmer
